片石山房东面有一座楠木厅，是何园保存年代最久的一幢建筑，俗称明楠木厅，距今已有300多年的历史，厅西侧有一“不系舟”，寓意着平平稳稳，一帆风顺，坐在舟上可俯视鱼池。
